The Filosha Infrared Point Gas Detector uses non-dispersive infrared sensing to monitor hydrocarbon gases and carbon dioxide at a fixed point. Immune to sensor poisoning and reliable in oxygen-lean atmospheres, it features heated optics to resist condensation and delivers stable, fail-to-safe performance with minimal maintenance across demanding hazardous-area installations.
The Filosha Infrared Point Gas Detector applies proven non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology to detect combustible hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide with exceptional stability and reliability. Because infrared sensing does not depend on a chemical reaction at the sensor, the detector is inherently immune to the poisoning and inhibition that can silently degrade catalytic detectors, and it continues to function accurately in oxygen-deficient or inert atmospheres where catalytic technology cannot. A fail-to-safe optical design ensures that any fault or obscuration is signalled rather than masked, providing genuine confidence in the measurement at all times.
Built for permanent installation in hazardous areas, the detector is housed in a robust flameproof enclosure and features heated optics that prevent condensation and mist from forming on the lenses, maintaining dependable performance through the temperature swings and high humidity of the GCC and India. A local display and status indicators verify readings at the point of installation, while standard analogue and digital outputs integrate seamlessly with fire-and-gas systems. With no routine sensor replacement and greatly reduced calibration demands, the detector lowers lifetime maintenance costs while raising availability. Deployed at compressor stations, gas turbines, LNG facilities and process modules, the Infrared Point Gas Detector delivers accurate, long-life hydrocarbon and CO2 detection where catalytic sensing falls short.
