Product Description

The Filosha Portable Infrared Hydrocarbon Detector is engineered for the atmospheres that defeat conventional catalytic bead sensors. By measuring the infrared absorption of hydrocarbon molecules rather than burning the gas, its infrared sensor operates accurately without any need for oxygen, making it uniquely suited to inert, nitrogen-purged or oxygen-deficient spaces. The same principle means the sensor cannot be poisoned or degraded by silicones, sulphur compounds or lead, common contaminants that shorten the life of catalytic detectors, and it responds reliably even at very high hydrocarbon concentrations without saturation or damage.

Housed in a rugged, sealed enclosure built for the dust, heat and humidity of GCC and Indian operations, the detector clips to a worker or samples remotely to check purged and blanketed spaces before entry. A bright display shows the live hydrocarbon reading as a percentage of the lower explosive limit, and loud audible, high-visibility visual and firm vibrating alarms respond the instant a threshold is crossed. Onboard datalogging records readings for compliance and audit, while simple bump-testing and calibration keep the unit dependable and permit-ready.
