The Filosha Filtering Escape Hood provides fast, filter-based protection for evacuating an area affected by hazardous gases, vapours or smoke. A combined ABEK and P3-class filter cleans the surrounding air of organic, inorganic, acid and ammonia gases as well as fine particulates, so the wearer breathes filtered air for the duration of the escape, typically around fifteen minutes. Because it relies on filtration rather than a cylinder, the hood is exceptionally light and compact, stowing in a small vacuum-sealed pouch that can be carried, kept at a workstation or distributed widely across a facility for rapid access.
The hood is designed for immediate use by anyone, with no fitting, straps or training required: the wearer simply pulls it over the head, and the elasticated neck seal closes against the skin to keep contaminants out.
