Reactive Gas Mixture Cylinder

This specially treated aluminium cylinder is formulated to preserve the stability of reactive gas mixtures such as hydrogen sulphide, chlorine, sulphur dioxide and ammonia. An inert internal surface treatment minimises reaction between the gas and the cylinder wall, maintaining accurate concentrations over the shelf life for dependable calibration of toxic gas detection instruments.

Product Description

The Reactive Gas Mixture Cylinder addresses one of the most demanding challenges in gas detection: keeping low-concentration reactive components stable inside the vessel. Reactive gases such as hydrogen sulphide, chlorine, sulphur dioxide and ammonia readily adsorb onto or react with untreated cylinder walls, causing concentrations to drift below the certified value. To counter this, each aluminium cylinder receives a specialised internal passivation treatment that creates an inert barrier, dramatically reducing gas loss and preserving mixture integrity throughout its shelf life.

This stability is critical for the accurate calibration of toxic gas monitors used to protect personnel across oil, gas, petrochemical and water treatment operations in the GCC and India. Every cylinder is charged with a certified reactive mixture and supplied with traceable documentation confirming the concentration at fill. The treated surface ensures that instruments respond to a true, known value during span calibration and bump testing, supporting reliable alarm thresholds and worker safety. Available in a range of concentrations and compatible with demand-flow regulators, the cylinder gives safety teams confidence that their reactive-gas calibrations reflect genuine detector performance rather than degraded reference gas.
